Aim of the Course: To train people who, with a bit of confidence and anointing from God, will take up the challenge of Christian music ministry and lead the people of God into praise and worship to God. Students will be taught basic music theory with staff and basic tonic solfa notations. Students will learn lyric writing for speech, song, drama or for poetry. They will learn to apply and practice word measurement (scanning). Students will learn the relationships between beats in the syllables and beats in songs. Students will write and learn to edit their own songs:- “singability”, scriptural and theological correctness. Students will learn to work in groups (e.g. listening skills with regards to harmony young people working together with children and older people in an ensemble. Leadership training- given especially to those aspiring to be music conductors (eg: be able to read the music, keep everyone in time and tune and speed.) Students will learn proper care and use of voice in speech as well as in singing Students will learn to perform in public as soloists or with the group as a choir. This is for motivation and building of confidence. Students will take part and learn what is involved in the organisation of a music concert ( i.e. They will help organize the concert to perform the final product, their own songs).
We have a good track record. Our workshops cater for students from the age of 12 to 75 and 99.9% of our students end up writing their own lyrics and making their own music. All we ask is for you to remember us when your songs start climbing the charts and you've become rich and famous. Of course, this is not a joke. It is a statement loaded with confidence.
